The men and women of the Moraga-Orinda Fire District take great pride in delivering the best possible service to our residents and are committed to protecting your safety. We take this charge very seriously and are constantly evaluating our services to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of care to those in need.
We hope you will find the information within our webpage informative. If you’re visiting us for the first time, please take a moment to look at the documents in the Transparency section of the webpage. The District is committed to financial transparency and the prudent use of taxpayer dollars.
Recognizing the wildfire risk that our community faces, we encourage all residents to prepare by reducing vegetation and other fuels around your home and on your lot, signing up for the Community Warning System to receive evacuation notifications, and to be prepared to evacuate immediately. Once you have reduced the vegetation around your home, please talk to your neighbors about becoming a NFPA Firewise USA® community. Learn more about how to keep your family safe and reduce your home’s risk for wildfire damage at https://www.nfpa.org/Public-Education/By-topic/Wildfire/Firewise-USA. More information regarding wildfire preparedness, fuels mitigation and the MOFD Wildfire Prevention Strategic Plan is available through the District’s fire prevention pages on this site.
Emergency evacuation notifications are made through the Community Warning System maintained by the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office. If you have not done so already, I strongly urge you to register for notifications at https://cwsalerts.com/.
Thank you for visiting our webpage and please do not hesitate to contact district staff if you have questions that are not answered here.
