Director Craig Jorgens represents MOFD District 5.  (North Orinda).  Craig served as President of the Board in 2021.   Craig and his wife Lisa moved to Orinda in 1992, and their two daughters, Laura and Emily, attended Orinda public schools and graduated from Miramonte High School. 

Craig is a retired telecommunications executive having most recently served as President of a global satellite company. He has also been a management consultant and finance executive.  He earned a BS from Harvey Mudd College in Southern California and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University. 

He was first elected to the MOFD board in 2016 and again in 2020.  He is also the President of his local homeowner’s association and previously served on Orinda’s Infrastructure Committee where he introduced the cost saving technology of full depth reclamation for repaving Orinda’s streets.

Craig has been actively involved in promoting MOFD’s efforts in fire prevention including continuous support for the free chipper program for mitigating dangerous fuel loads in our community.
