Steven Danziger represents MOFD District 3.  Steven served as President of the Board in 2019 and 2020.  Steven and his wife Leesa have resided in Orinda since 1995. Their sons Galen and Nathan attended schools in Orinda and graduated from Miramonte High School.

Steven has a BA in Anthropology, a Master’s in Public Administration and certification as an HR Manager. Steven worked for the National Park Service in Arizona and at Yosemite National Park. Steven has over 30 years of governmental experience including twenty years as Administrative Services Manager with the Oakland Fire Department and positions in the Oakland City Manager’s  Office and Office of Finance.

Steven has been Scoutmaster of Troop 57, a long time youth sports coach and a swim team vice president. Steven is a dedicated community volunteer presently serving on the Orinda Parks & Recreation Commission, a member of the Orinda Public Art Committee, a UC Master Gardener and RecycleSmart Certified Master Composter.  Steven serves on the Board of the Orinda Nature Area at Wagner Ranch.

Steven is proud to have completed the Community Emergency Response Team Training (CERT) to become a member of the President’s Citizen Corps. He is looking forward to completing advanced training and volunteering with the program.  Additionally, Steven is a Fire Adapted Community Ambassador.
